Aspen Fiber Networks Easement Rights Policy

An easement is a legal right that allows a public utility or other entity to access or use part of someone’s property without owning it. Easement rights enable Aspen Fiber Networks to maintain, repair, and upgrade our network infrastructure to ensure reliable service.

Details

In areas where Aspen Fiber Networks has underground or overhead fiber lines, the space for these lines is part of a public utility easement, which grants us the right to access the property for service maintenance.

If you have concerns regarding the location or condition of utility lines or equipment, please contact Aspen Fiber Networks or your local utility company for assistance.

Any easement on a property is generally noted in the title report, which is provided to property owners during the property purchase process by the title company.

Accessing Your Property

Aspen Fiber Networks makes every effort to notify property owners prior to accessing any private property or backyard areas. However, if we are unable to reach the property owner, we still retain the right to enter the property to maintain our equipment, ensuring the continued delivery of services to both Aspen Fiber Networks customers and non-customers.

In areas where fiber lines are underground, the easement is typically located three to five feet from the sidewalk or roadway, but in some cases, it may extend into backyards. In cases where the lines are overhead, our equipment may be mounted on poles installed in backyards or other parts of private property.
